Lake Arrowhead: A Perfect Winter Destination

5000 feet above Los Angeles is a cozy, year-round mountain paradise. Whether you are looking for a winter wonderland or fun in the sun, Lake Arrowhead is an ideal getaway.

The San Bernadino Mountains provide the perfect location for all kinds of activities, including both snow and water skiing, hiking, bicycling, or simply relaxing by the beautiful lake. It is located two hours from LA, yet feels like an entirely different world. It is a quaint area with shops, restaurants, and hotels, making it a quick and easy place to charge your batteries.

My favorite place to stay there is the luxurious Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. The location is ideal, with direct access to their own sandy beach, a dock, pool area, and stunning views. Their restaurant Bin 189, serves terrific food and drink options, and it is also a quick five-minute walk to other dining options in the Village.

Skypark at Santa’s Village is a short drive away and offers activities that appeal to all ages. You can ice skate in the winter or roller skate in warmer months. Try ax throwing, archery, mountain biking, and even zip-lining. You can also simply just relax and enjoy a coffee or cocktail in this pretty setting. This fun mountain park celebrates holidays throughout the year with decorations and themes.

Lake Arrowhead makes a great easy road trip from Phoenix and Los Angeles. I have always enjoyed my visits to this special spot.
