Scottsdale Arizona truly offers something for everyone. Not only do they have terrific hotels and resorts with spectacular pool areas, but it is also home to so many great things to do. Here are five of my favorite things to do when I visit Scottsdale, Arizona.
1. Butterfly Wonderland
The largest butterfly conservancy in the country is located in Scottsdale. Whether you are very young or a bit more seasoned, this interactive experience is a great way to learn about butterflies as well as fish and reptiles in a rain forest environment. There is a 3-D theater, gallery to watch butterflies emerge from the chrysalis and a Honey Bee Extravaganza. It is indoors so it is the ideal year-round place for all ages.
Scottsdale has more than 200 beautiful golf courses. However only one of them is home to Golf Digest’s Top Rated Pro in Arizona – The Boulders Resort and Spa. Donald Crawley is the director of golf instructor for the award-winning resort nestled in the Sonoran Desert. He teaches golfers from beginners to advanced and will actually do playing lessons where he goes out for nine holes with his student. The two eighteen hole courses are absolutely spectacular and the accommodations and amenities at The Boulders will exceed expectations.
3. Century Grand
If you like meticulously crafted cocktails, rare spirits, and unique wines, you are going to love Century Grand In addition to the beverages, the dining experience is also incredibly cool. Inside Century Grand is Platform 18, a Presidential Pullman inspired train car that immerses guests in a 90-minute train ride with award-winning cocktails and special dessert drinks including fresh alcoholic ice creams made in house.
4. Hot Air Balloon
Seeing Arizona from a bird’s eye view is a majestic experience. With Hot Air Expeditions you will float above the Sonoran Desert and see amazing sites from above. This company prides itself on providing the very best service by creating special touches like champagne and breakfast or lunch and a beautifully set table after landing. Hot Air Expeditions has been making its customers happy for nearly 30 years with a safe, entertaining, and educational adventure.
5. Desert Botanical Gardens
Many people think that the desert is home to only tumbleweeds and dirt. However, a visit to The Desert Botanical Garden will show them that there is so much more growing in Arizona with a wide variety of trees, flowers, plants, and cactus spread over 55 acres. In addition to the natural beauty, Desert Botanical Gardens features a children’s play area, rotating exhibits, and special events such as Corks and Cactus and Happy Hours In The Garden.
