My recent visit to Napa for wine tasting was spectacular. I wish I would have asked a local before going since they know all the best spots, but now I have collected quite the list of great wineries!
I spoke to Napa Valley locals to find out the best wine-tasting spots that NoCal natives love. If you’re wondering, “Is Napa wine tasting open?” luckily the answer is “Yes!” Sommeliers and wine-tasting amateurs alike should get the chance to experience wine tasting in Napa at least once. If you’re willing to take the right precautions, now might be your time.
Is Napa Wine Tasting Open?
As of February 2021, the stay-at-home order in Napa Valley has been lifted and Napa County wineries are permitted to resume outdoor wine tastings. Restaurants are welcoming guests and may resume outdoor dining.
Wineries are open in a limited capacity. All of the seating is outdoors and reservations are required in advance. Since they are operating with much smaller tasting times it is a good idea to plan as far out as possible.
It was my first time visiting the area in a year so I was curious to see how they implemented Covid protocol while executing a fun experience! If you’re going to Napa any time soon, here are the best wine tasting experiences that locals love!
Clif Family Winery
In the Clif Family Tasting Room, you can taste a large selection of Clif Family wines and enjoy the delicious seasonal fare. Get the ultimate Napa Valley wine tasting experience by walking through their quiet green vineyards and taking in the California views.
If you like beautiful gardens, country houses, and pastoral barns, Frog’s Leap Winery, located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, CA, offers signature tastings of their organic wines and tours throughout the property. If you’re seeking a wide variety of great wine, stop by Frog’s Leap!
Napa Valley Wine Tasting at Honig Vineyard
Honig is lauded by locals for its relaxed atmosphere, great wine, and biodynamic practices. They are leaders in adopting solar power and other eco-friendly practices, and it shows! Because of their use of birds, bees, and bats as natural pollinators, Honig is really something special.
If you’re looking for a place to practice your sommelier skills, these wineries in Napa Valley are the perfect places to start.
