Anniversary Trip: The Fairmont Kea Lani

My husband and I were looking for a special way to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary and wanted to do something with our adult children.  We honeymooned on Maui way back when and thought it would be wonderful to go back there.  The Fairmont Kea Lani was our first thought for our place to stay and I am glad it was.

The Kea Lani is set on 22 acres of beachfront property in Wailea.  Their accommodations range from a standard one-bedroom suite to larger three-bedroom villas.  Since we were coming with kids and their plus-ones, we decided on a villa and it exceeded our expectations.

Villas are oceanfront with a small plunge pool offering privacy and easy access to the beach.  They are spacious so everyone had privacy along with us being in the same place.  We did a grocery store run and used the fully stocked kitchen to prepare daily lunch and snacks.

Villa stays include a complimentary daily breakfast buffet for each guest and the resort offerings for dinner are outstanding.  My personal favorite was Ko, an award-winning dining experience featuring local cuisine rooted in Maui’s history and culture.

When it comes to pools, there is something for everyone.  A family-friendly pool, complete with a water slide is welcoming to all guests, while an adult pool is inviting for those looking for a little more mellow experience.  It was quite lovely and I have recently learned that they are enhancing this area with some luxury cabanas.

As far as activities go, you can choose to experience Hawaiian culture through their on-site program, use beach equipment including snorkel gear and stand up paddleboards, participate in fitness classes or visit their world-class Willow Stream Spa.

There are many offers for this resort that change throughout the year.  Their website is the best resource for learning about current deals and booking a visit.  www.fairmont.com/kea-lani-maui
