With summer vacations just around the corner and the race to get vaccinated underway, Americans are finding little time to properly plan and book their family reunions, RV Road Trips, or even weekend getaways
As airlines open up more routes, hotels open up more rooms, and rental-sharing soars, questions about booking summer travel are coming in faster than ever from The Travel Mom Community.
I spoke to ABC7 Eyewitness News NY about the return of summer travel and shared three of the most asked questions about booking tickets and vacation plans post-covid vaccination.
- Is this a good time to book an airline ticket?
Yes. As demand increases, so will the price. When you do book, make sure you fully understand the cancellation and refund process for the airline.
- Should I buy travel insurance when booking tickets and reservations?
Yes. We protect our other investments like cars and our homes, it makes sense to protect our vacation too. There’s a lot more to travel insurance than just ticket protections.
- Why are rental car reservations so expensive?
The majority of rental car companies had to sell their fleet of cars in order to survive the pandemic. With the swift return of travel, supplies are limited. Book as soon as possible and in far as advance as possible.
I also weighed in on some of the popular vacation spots people are starting to visit, including Orlando visited the Disney theme parks and said it’s imperative to make reservations ahead of time for both restaurants and the parks.
“I felt very safe, the safety and health are top of mind for these theme parks, and I didn’t feel like I had a problem.”Emily Kaufman, The Travel Mom
